Biography

Greg acquired 100% of Shapiro Brothers, a successful recycling/scrap business incorporated in 1946. Under his leadership, Shapiro Brothers grew to be the largest recycler in the Midwest. Shapiro Brothers had 4 processing plants (Missouri and Illinois). Greg was an adjunct professor at the University of Missouri of Science and Technology and Webster University. Greg’s work at the University of Missouri led to a joint patent with Dr. Paul Worsey on recycling technologies. Shapiro Brothers was purchased by Carl Icahn’s family office in 2011. He holds a BSChe and MBA (with honors) from Washington University in St Louis. Greg Shapiro is Dan Shapiro’s cousin and has known Bengt Jalsjo for eight years.
