The Mountaineer GigaSystem™ is the West Virginia site host, power provider, and CCS provider for the 2,300 acre Monarch AI Data Center System which consists of the Monarch Compute Campus (MCC) at North Point Pleasant and the Expansion MCC (EMC2) at Lakin.

Located in one of the state’s High Impact Industrial Business districts, Mountaineer has pathways to provide Monarch with low carbon power by leveraging Capio WV’s extensive subsurface experience with CCS.

By leveraging a pragmatic “all of the above” energy strategy, Mountaineer aims to maintain  West Virginia’s position as an energy innovation leader and create hundreds of quality jobs by capitalizing on the fast growing AI data center market.
