Milton Carroll is the Executive Chairman of the Board of CenterPoint Energy, Inc. (NYSE) and Chairman of the Board of Health Care Service Corporation, a non-investor-owned mutual insurance company headquartered in Chicago, Illinois. He also serves as a director of Halliburton Company (NYSE).
He has served on several other corporate boards including Seagull Energy and its successor companies (Ocean Energy and Devon Energy Corporation); PanEnergy Corporation (before it was sold to Duke Energy); TEPPCO Partners, L.P. (until it was sold to EPCO, Inc.); DCP Midstream Partners, LP., EGL, Inc. (until it was sold to Apollo); LRR Energy, L.P.; LyondellBasell Industries; and Western Gas Partners, L.P.
Carroll’s many civic involvements have included previous service as Chairman of the Board of the Houston Endowment Foundation and Chairman of the Board of Regents of Texas Southern University. He is a former commissioner of the Port of Houston Authority and a former director of the Federal Reserve Bank of Houston and Dallas. Mr. Carroll is a native of Houston, TX and graduated from Texas Southern University in 1973 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Technology.
